THE HAPPY DIET.



In the last few years the word diet has been on everyone’s lips, in magazines, newspapers and advertisements.. There are a lot of types of diets but the one that most of us use is the “miracle diet” in which you can lose weight quickly. Just a few people have never been on a diet or are not doing a diet in this very moment. So many of us are obsessed with diets, healthy food and wanting to have a perfect body. But remember, a lot of something is never good. 


We usually start a diet and leave it a few days later, starting it once again and leaving it one more time. Why? Don’t we have will power? Are we not happy with our body? Why does it all have to do with just our body? 


There are psychological symptoms related to a diet like stress, obsession-compulsion, anxiety, depression etc. Cheo opened my eyes when he showed me that what happens to your body is a manifestation of your mind. Once we get rid of those mental issues, automatically we will not have any worries concerned with our bodies. And we will be able to do a lot of things that we never thought of being able to do.


You are not just your body, you are much more. You are your dreams, your worries, your happiness, your desires, your pains, your hopes, your frustrationsCheo. We are all these things that make a human being, we are not just mere soulless and mindless bodies. 


As a trainer at Cheo Sport Center, Cheo has changed the notion of achieving beauty. In his recently published book, he explains how our body behaves and how it communicates with us through welfare sensations (we are on the right track) and discomfort (we must switch paths). He goes beyond understanding our body and writes how our body reacts to food as well as the purpose of each of the hormones that are related to weight-loss and a happier lifestyle. “Miracle diets” never work out well, everything needs its time and quick weight loss has its disadvantages. The first disadvantage is that it is not healthy and the second is that you will regain weight.


At the end of the book Cheo includes a threefold variety diet:

PHASE I: LOSE WEIGHT AND BE HAPPY. If we stand still without doing anything we will never reach anywhere. The best thing to do is to work with enthusiasm and prepare a training scheme. This way you will see your dream of losing weight become reality. In our training scheme we should include exercise because it makes you lose weight faster as well as increasing your welfare. He adds a diet for 7 days of the week including breakfast, lunch and dinner.

PHASE II: YOUR IDEAL WEIGHT. One you start losing weight, how do you feel?. You obviously start feeling happy. And what do we do when we start losing weight? We leave the diet aside and we start eating everything again, little by little. In this case, we should carry on with the diet to be able to achieve our ideal weight and this way not getting into the cycle of losing weight / putting on weight. In this phase Cheo has included a diet for the 7 days of the week, different from the one above.

PHASE III: DEMAND YOUR IDEAL WEIGHT. Once we reach our ideal weight, after so much of an effort, we should remain there. In Cheo’s book this is the best part! He adds little portions of our favorite food making converting this into a healthy lifestyle. Your biggest treasure is you, you are life and don’t let the days pass you by.


Once we learn to accommodate a healthy lifestyle and we learn to love ourselves we can be happy with our new body. Diet is not important, what is important is that we have faith in ourselves and we find out what is the main problem and learn to accept and listen to it then only we will see the change in our body.
